Correne Burch

Correne Burch, 92, of Farmer City, formerly of Atwood, passed away at 1:11 p.m. April 8, 2017, at Farmer City Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
 
A celebration of Correne’s life will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at United Church of Atwood. Pastor Don Gerkin will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Private burial will be at Arcola Cemetery at a later date. Edwards Funeral Home, Arcola, is assisting with arrangements.
 
Correne was born Nov. 1, 1924, in Muhlenberg County, Ky., a daughter of Arthur and Ella (Peach) Embry. She married Robert Enlow on June 29, 1942, in Brandenburg, Ky. She later married Claude Burch on June 3, 1979, in Neoga. He passed away July 6, 1988.
 
Correne is survived by five children, Virginia (Thomas) McNutt, Farmer City; Paul (Barbara) Enlow, Chesterville; Victoria (Jim) Brown, Centrailia, Mo.; Ellen Lynch, Atwood; and Nellie (Louis) Sheffield, De;and; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Robert Louis Enlow; one daughter, Joanna Sue Burch; one grandson, Robert Louis Enlow Jr.; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Chester Embry, Charles Embry and John “J.C” Embry; and one sister, Mary Lou Smith.
 
Correne was a member of Arcola Free Methodist Church and had been a member of Odd Fellow-Rebekah Lodge, Arthur. 
 
She enjoyed sewing and quilting and spending time with her family. 
 
Memorials may be made to the food pantry at the United Church of Atwood.
