Charlene “Inky” Followell 73 of Clinton, Il. passed away 2:38 AM March 23, 2017 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, Il.

 

Visitation will be 2 – 4 PM, Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Il. Cremation rites will follow.

 

Memorials may be directed to the Charlene Followell Memorial Fund.

 

Charlene was born March 18, 1944 in Clinton, IL the daughter of Merle and Ruby (Rice) Scogin. She married Tom Followell October 11, 1963 in Clinton, IL.

 

Survivors include her children:  Genita Hawes, Clinton, IL; Sue Followell, Clinton, IL; and Tom “Chopper” Followell, Clinton, IL; 6 grandchildren especially Amber Reynolds who cared for her these last 4 years, 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Agee, Lincoln, IL.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 granddaughter; 1great-grandson; twin-sister, Darlene Scogin; sister, Dorothy Mills; and brother, Jimmy Scogin.

 

Charlene drove a school bus for the Clinton School District and worked at the nursing home.  She enjoyed playing Poker machines and Bingo.
