Ruth Arlene Letzkus, 73, of Heyworth, passed away at 11:57 A.M., Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

 

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Heyworth Christian Church, Heyworth. Pastor Mark Wallace will officiate. Burial will be in Randolph Township Memorial Cemetery, Heyworth. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M., Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the church. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Heyworth is in charge of arrangements.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

 

Mrs. Letzkus was born December 7, 1943 in Atwater, IL to Charles Lee and Claudia Marie Simmons Harms.

 

Survivors include two sons, Gregory P. Harms of Heyworth and Jon R. (Pam) Letzkus of San Diego, CA; two daughters, Angie D. (Bernie) Wiltshire and Kelly J. (Matt) Lembke all of Heyworth; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Phillip (Judy) Harms of Atwater; and one sister, Janet (Jerry) Wills of Lexington.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jeffrey Letzkus.

 

Ruth was a college professor and had taught at West Virginia Northern Community College and recently was a systems educator and trainer at State Farm Insurance.

 

She was a member of the Heyworth Christian Church and All Hands Around Quilt Guild, Bloomington.
