Beatrice H. 'Bea' Thomas

Beatrice H. “Bea” Thomas, 98, of Farmer City, passed away at 1:10 P.M. Thursday (March 2, 2017) at Farmer City Rehabilitation & Health Care.
 
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City, with Pastor Randie White officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Farmer City, or the activity fund at Farmer City Rehabilitation & Health Care. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, is in charge of arrangements.
 
Bea was born July 30, 1918, in Nancy, Ky., a daughter of James Franklin and Bertha Ellen Simpson Todd. She married Jesse Thomas on March 24, 1940, in East Somerset, Ky. He passed away Oct. 26, 1979.
 
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joyce Thomas, Farmer City; grandchildren, Karyn (Brian) Bohannon, Wapella; Kayla (Kevin) Maxwell, Farmer City; great-grandchildren, Amber (Mike) Lorance; Kyler Thomas; Courtney Page; Ryan, Kristan and Austin Maxwell; great-great-grandchildren, Rowan and Maddie Bea Lorance; sister-in-law, Helen Thomas, Monticello.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry Thomas, on May 17, 2007; brother, Zelmer; and sister, Thelma.
 
Bea helped her husband farm, was an avid gardener, walker, quilter and reader. She was a charter member of First Baptist Church, Farmer City, and Sunday school teacher until 2009. She was a proud mother, grandmother, a loyal friend, and will be dearly missed.
