Virginia Ryan, 'Bud' Ryan

Virginia E. Ryan, 92, of Clinton, passed away at 3:40 a.m. Friday (March 3, 2017) at Manor Court, Clinton. F.E. “Bud” Ryan, 87, of Clinton, passed away 2:40 p.m. July 6, 2011, at their family home, Clinton.
 
Their graveside service will be 9 a.m. July 24 at Mausoleum Park Cemetery, Clinton, with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.
 
Memorials may be directed to First Christian Church Food Pantry, Clinton.
 
Virginia was born June 25, 1924, in Fullerton, the daughter of William and Alma (Lafferty) Nixon. F.E. “Bud” Ryan was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Wapella, the son of Patrick D. and Nellie Fern (Moberly) Ryan. They married July 24, 1943, in Clinton.
 
Survivors include Virginia’s brother, Joe (Martha) Nixon, Clinton, and sister-in-law, Jean Nixon, Minier; Bud’s sisters, Jean Nowlin, Mexico, Mo., and Rosalie “Tootie” Eaton, Clinton; and several of their nieces and nephews.
 
Virginia was preceded in death by her brothers, Sheldon, David and Ted Nixon, and sister, Helen Baker. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Margaret Brewer; and nephew, Doug Brewer.
 
Virginia was the owner and operator of Gottliebs, Clinton. Bud retired from Illinois Central Railroad, Decatur.
