Sharon Elizabeth Stephenson 78 of Clinton, IL went to be with the Lord 12:10 AM March 2, 2017 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, IL.

 

Services will be 2 P.M. Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Rev. Michael Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Visitation will be 1 - 2 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to First Church of the Nazarene Clinton, IL.

 

Sharon was born March 12, 1938 in Patterson, IL the daughter of Clyde and Orlena Goacher. She married Robert Lee Stephenson June 16, 1956 in Valley City, IL. He passed away May 28, 2011.

 

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents: Clyde and Orlena Goacher, and

her son: Tim Stephenson.

 

She leaves behind her children: Jim (Penny) Stephenson, Clinton, IL, Kim

Stephenson, Clinton, IL, Teresa (Neil) Cooper, Clinton, IL; grandchildren:

Jamie (Nick) Sutherland, Leroy, IL, Travis Stephenson, Austin, TX, Austin

(Emily) Stephenson, Champaign, IL, Tim Cooper, Clinton, IL, and Dylan

Cooper; great grandchildren: Boston, Balor, and Adler Sutherland, LeRoy,

IL and Miya Stephenson, Champaign, IL; brothers: Gary (Barbara) Goacher,

Taylorville, IL, Ron (Carla) Goacher, Millstadt, IL; sister: Dixie (Stan)

McNeme, FL, Edie (Gary) Webb, Phoenix, AZ and Mary Goacher, Affton, MO.

 

The family would like to thank BroMenn Hospital in Normal, IL for the

wonderful care that Sharon was given. A "Thank  You" to Pastor Michael

Taylor of the Nazarene Church, for the phone calls and visits of comfort

to Sharon; to Pat Bryant, her niece, who was Sharon's Angel and travel

buddy. Without Pat, Sharon would not have been able to pursue her love of

travel; to her hairdresser, Mendy Procarione, who always made sure her

hair looked great and always took time to do her nails. Sharon always

looked forward to seeing her once a week.

 

Sharon worked at G.E. in Bloomington-Normal for 30 years. After retiring,

she loved traveling and seeing Dinner Theatres. She also enjoyed dining

out and visiting with her friends.

 

Her family and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She always thought

they could do no wrong and always loved showing her friends and family

their pictures.

 

Sharon was a beloved mother, grandma and great grandma. We, her family,

will truly miss her. We will miss her good cooking, and the great

memories, visiting Sharon in her warm, cozy home.
