Leonard F. Hursh

Leonard F. Hursh of Heyworth died Wednesday (Feb. 22, 2017) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
 
He was born July 30, 1934, in Bloomington, a son of Leonard M. Hursh and Pearl Scott Hursh. Leonard's first wife, Mary, is deceased. He married Patricia Robinson on June 10, 1978. She survives.
 
Also surviving are his daughter, Laurie Hursh; son, Todd (Laura Schoolman) Hursh; grandson, Zack Hursh, all of Heyworth; stepchildren, Mike (Liz) Robinson, Goodfield; Dave Robinson, Las Vegas, Nev.; Kelly (Reid) Doner, Aurora; Dan (Della) Robinson, Rosamond, Calif.; and Barry (Molly) Robinson, Normal; 19 stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; one stepgreat-great-granddaughter; one sister, Patricia Prouty, Bloomington; and many nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two infant children.
 
He inspired many others with his love of music. He enjoyed his Thursday night jam sessions with friends in his basement. He also enjoyed playing pool and cards. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
 
A private family memorial service will be held. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Heyworth, is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. March 12 at Heyworth American Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
