Leroy C. Black 82 of Clinton, Illinois passed away 8:20 AM February 3, 2017 at Manor Court, Clinton, IL.

 

Graveside services will be 10 AM Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL with military honors. Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL.

 

Memorials may be directed to the Lincoln Gun Club.

 

Leroy was born May 8, 1934 in Addison Township, DuPage County, IL the son of William “Bill” and Dorothy (Morrow) Black. He married Carolyn J. Carter November 20, 1953. She passed away August 23, 2016.

 

Survivors include 2 grandsons, Ryan Black (Shelby), Clinton, IL; Daryn Black (Jennifer), Rogersville, MO; 5 great-grandchildren: Avery, Ethan, Saddie, Kyla and Lilly; daughter-in-law: Marjorie Black.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons: Randy Black and Carter Black, 13 brothers and sisters.

 

Leroy served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was an avid trap shooter and worked for Illinois Bell, retiring as a foreman in 1989.
