Delmar Dean Carter

Delmar Dean Carter 86 of Clinton, Illinois passed away 5:15 AM January 10, 2017 at John Warner Hospital and Health Services, Clinton, IL.
 
Services will be 10 A.M. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Rev. C. Don Ferrill officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL with military honors. Visitation will be 5 – 7 P.M. Friday, January 13, 2017 at the funeral home.
 
Memorials may be directed to the Delmar Dean Carter Memorial Fund.
 
Delmar Dean was born August 13, 1930 in DeWitt, IL the son of William Lee and Osie (Short) Carter. He married Edna L. Ray February 19, 1954 in Clinton, IL.
 
Survivors include his wife: Edna L. Carter, Clinton, IL; children: Tony Dean Carter, Ronald Carter and Liana Carter all of Clinton, IL; brothers: Kenneth “Buck” (Joyce) Carter, Lufkin, TX and Charles (Shirley) Carter, Clinton, IL; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, 5 brothers including his twin brother: Gene Carter.
 
Delmar Dean enjoyed woodworking, horseshow pitching, bowling and dancing. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and had farmed for 42 years in DeWitt County. He also was a member of the Clinton Eagles Lodge.
