Bessie Lucille Scott 78 of Clinton, Illinois passed away 8:53 AM January 6, 2017 at her family residence, Clinton, IL.

 

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, IL. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to the Bessie Lucille Scott Memorial Fund.

 

Lucille was born March 8, 1938 in Weldon, IL the daughter of John and Ida (Black) Followell. She married Everett Lealon “Junior” Scott, Jr.. November 24, 1960 in Weldon, IL. He passed away April 28, 1987.

 

Survivors include her children, Jacob V. McPeek, Sr., Seymour, IL; Sabrina Peavler, Clinton, IL; James R. McPeek, Clinton, IL; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers.

 

Lucille was an avid Cub fan, and enjoyed bowling, bunko, and bingo. She loved to sing and dance at the hospital, and nursing home, to entertain the residence as a member of the Swinging Grandmother’s Club. She also, volunteered for DOVE and at the Highrise.
