Marsha Lee Walters

Marsha Lee Walters, 70 of Weldon, IL passed away 9:20 A.M. January 2, 2017 at her family home in Weldon, IL.
 
Services will be 10 AM, Friday, January 6, 2017 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Rev. Michael Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, IL. Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM, Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the funeral home.
 
Memorials may be directed to the Weldon Fire and Rescue or the Weldon Library.
 
Marsha was born April 10, 1946 in Clinton, IL the daughter of Donald L. and Constance L. (Rucker) North. She married Robert D. Walters June 21, 1964 in Clinton, IL.
 
Survivors include her husband: Bob Walters, Weldon, IL; father, Don North, Clinton, IL; son, Robb (Becky) Walters, Clinton, IL; daughter, Wendy (Brian) DeMent, Clinton, IL; four grandchildren:  Rachel, Matthew, Jadon and Rebekah DeMent, all of Clinton, IL; two step-grandchildren:  Krista and Nolan Hickman, Clinton, IL; brother, John (Lynn) North, Edwardsville, IL; and sister, Julie North, Clinton, IL.
 
She was preceded in death by mother, Connie North; daughter, Carrie; and her paternal and maternal grandparents and two nieces.
 
After graduating from Clinton High School, Marsha worked at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield for 15 years, Carle Hospital in Urbana, The Weldon State Bank, and Illinois Power Co./Dynegy in Decatur.  She retired in 2001 as Supervisor of Records Management for Illinois Power from 1981 to 2001 for the entire State of Illinois, everything except nuclear facilities.
 
Marsha was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the DeWitt Clinton Chapter of the DAR, the Westmoreland Glass Society, Inc., and the National Milk Glass Collectors Society.  She enjoyed searching for and finding rare milk glass pieces and antiquing in general.  Marsha served one term as Interim Board President and on the village board for 18 years, and one term as Library Board President.  She enjoyed working and helping people.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
