Marvin Robinson

 Marvin R. Robinson, 75 of Beason, IL passed away 2:00 P.M. December 26, 2016 at Dr. John Warner Hospital, Clinton, IL.
 
Services will be 10 AM, Friday, December 30, 2016 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Greg Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery, Beason, IL. Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM, Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the funeral home.  The family requests casual attire.
 
Memorials may be directed to the Beason Fire Department, the DeWitt Co. Museum, or the Beason United Methodist Church.
 
Marvin was born July 30, 1941 in Lincoln, IL the son of Vernet and Dorothy (Begolka) Robinson. He married Gail Hynd December 9, 1961 in Onarga, IL.
 
Survivors include his wife: Gail Robinson, Beason, IL; children:  Debra Ertl, Clinton, IL and Darvin (Tammy) Robinson, Beason, IL; 2 grandchildren:  Ana and Hunter Robinson, Beason, IL; sister, Sylvia Barry, Charleston, IL; brother, Dwayne (Cheryl) Robinson, Champaign, IL; several nieces and nephews also survive.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents.
 
Marvin worked at Revere Copper and Brass for 40 years and was also a lifelong farmer in the Beason area.  He was on the board of the DeWitt Co. Museum Assoc. and a trustee of the Beason Fire Dept.  Marvin was a member of HPOCA, the Hartland Oliver Collectors, the  I & I Antique Tractor and Gas Engine Club, and the DeWitt County Farm Bureau.  He was a member of the Beason United Methodist Church.  Marvin was an avid collector of Oliver Tractors.
