Lois (Maher) Ratcliffe, 83, of Sullivan, IL, formerly of Pesotum, IL, passed away at 4:03 P.M. on December 2, 2016. A memorial service will be conducted at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, December 27th at Mason Point Nursing Home Chapel, 1 Masonic Way, Sullivan with family friend and Chaplin Jan Dial officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be at Davis Memorial Cemetery, Pesotum, IL at a later date. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or National Kidney Foundation.

 

Lois was born May 11, 1933 in Geneva, NY, the daughter of John and Beulah (Maher) Huntley. Her father nicknamed her “June” when she was just a baby. June graduated with honors from Urbana High School in 1951. She married Robert Ratcliffe in 1970. 

 

Survivors include her husband, Robert Ratcliffe, Sullivan; children John (Kay) Werts, Clinton; Tere (Mike) Tedrick, Clinton; stepsons Bob (Kim) Ratcliffe, Mentor, OH; Jeff (Cindy) Ratcliffe, Painesville, OH; Jim Ratcliffe, Mahomet, sister Doris Hertzman, Downers Grove IL; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

 

June was preceded in death by her parents.

 

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Carle Hospital staff, Carle Hospice Program, and Mason Point Nursing Home staff Sullivan, IL for their tender care of June.
