Margaret P. Lilly, 86, of Bement, passed away at 2:24 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2016 at Carle Hospital, Urbana.

 

Margaret was born on July 20, 1930 in Atwood, IL the daughter of Henry and Pearl (Kinney) Evans. Margaret was raised by her adopted parents Seb and Opal Sebens. She married William H. “Bill” Lilly on January 13, 1962 in Monticello. He passed away August 16, 2003.

 

Margaret is survived by her son, William “Billy” Lilly of Bement; daughters, Sara Dianne Slagle of Bement and Cathy Beals of Monticello; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and a sister, Fern Wildman of Tuscola. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Daughter-in-Law Tina Lilly, 8 brothers, and 3 sisters.

 

Margaret taught 25 years at Headstart in Cisco, worked at Meijer’s in Champaign, and worked at the Allerton Park Visitors Center. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her classmates, family, grandkids, and great grandkids.

 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2016 at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held in the Monticello Township Cemetery.
