Ruth Woodall Leggett, 83, of Plainfield, formerly of Clinton, passed away at 9 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 29, 2016) at home.
Her service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Clinton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Leanne Noland officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Ruth was born April 25, 1933, in Clinton, the daughter of Hallie “Hal” and Claudia Weatherholt Woodall. She married Gene Leggett on Sept. 21, 1951, in Clinton.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Leggett, Plainfield; son, Eric (Nancy) Leggett, Plainfield; five grandchildren, Erin, Julia, Gregory, Kevin and Eric; and son-in-law, Russell Swanson, Naperville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Clyde Earhart; daughter, Elaine Swanson; one sister, Helen; and one brother, Warren.
Ruth was the director of volunteer services at Oak Park Hospital and Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
