Wayne Blazek, 77, of Weldon, passed away at 10:14 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 1, 2016), at Farmer City Rehab & Health Care Center, Farmer City.
Graveside services with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, with Marc Rogers, Amvets chaplain, officiating. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
Wayne was born July 9, 1939, in Yankton, S.D. the son of Clement Blazek and his wife, and raised by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Sylvia Blazek.
He married Linda Bradley on March 8, 1965, in New London, Conn.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Blazek, Weldon; children, Joe (Jean) Blazek, Weldon, and Kenny (Kris) Blazek, Mansfield; four grandchildren, Josh, Amber, Sam and Haley; one great-granddaughter, Lola; and brother, Mike Blazek, Hilo, Hawaii.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Arnold.
Wayne retired from the U.S. Navy and was a retired carpenter and a private pilot.
