Ivan Keith Leisner

Ivan Keith “Ike” Leisner 90 of Weldon, Il passed away 1:47 AM October 15, 2016 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, Il.

 

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Il. with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow at the Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, Il with military honors. Visitation will be 9-11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the Weldon Fire Department, or the First Christian Church, Clinton, Il.

 

Ike was born January 13, 1926 in Randolph Township, Il, the son of Frank and Bessie (Walters) Leisner. He married R. Elaine Barding October 1, 1949 in Angola, Indiana. She passed away October 21, 2015.

 

Survivors include his Sons: Michael Leisner, Normal, Il.; David Leisner, Weldon, Il.; 5 Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his Parents, 5 Brothers, and 3 Sisters.

 

Ike was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII where he received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Following his military service, he was a farmer in DeWitt County for over 50 years. Ike served as a volunteer fireman for the Weldon Fire Department, and, was also a member of the American Legion, the Weldon Lions Club, and the DeWitt Co. Farm Bureau.
