James Lewis “Slim” Mollet 72 of Clinton, Illinois passed away 4:32 PM August 28, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.

Mass Of Christian Burial will be 10 AM, Thursday, September 1, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Wapella, IL with Rev. Fr. Dustin Schultz celebrant.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL with Military Honors. Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL. Rosary will be 4:30 PM at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Renovation Fund.

James was born November 26, 1943 in Clinton, IL the son of Fremont Robert and Eva Mary (Knabel) Mollet. He married Lou Ellen Hunsley February 17, 1968 in Clinton, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Lou Ellen Mollet, Clinton, IL; children, Susan Mollet, Chicago, IL, Michael James (Joy) Mollet, Chicago, IL, Kathryn Mollet, Decatur, IL, 5 grandchildren: Patrick, Olivia, Harper, Lucy, and James Fitzgerald; sister, Roberta Bernardi, Hilton Head, SC, brothers,  Leo Emil (Doris) Mollet, DeWitt, IL, Lloyd (Joan) Mollet, Weldon, IL, Paul (Mary Ann) Mollet, Sycamore, IL, and Ralph (Gaylen) Mollet, Abilene, TX.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Floyd Dean Mollet.

James was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Wapella, IL.  He farmed for over 50 years in the Wapella area and was an avid Notre Dame fan.  James was an Army veteran.
