Carolyn J. Black, 79, of Clinton, IL, passed away at 12:20 P.M., August 23, 2016 at Manor Court, Clinton, IL.

Graveside Services will be 10:00 A.M Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL.

Memorials may be directed to the Clinton YMCA.

Carolyn was born May 4, 1937 in Wichita Falls, TX, the daughter of Bill and Myrtle (Grubaugh) Carter. She married Leroy C. Black in November 20, 1953.

Survivors include her husband: Leroy C. Black, Clinton, IL; 2 grandsons: Ryan Black (Shelby), Clinton, IL, and Daryn Black (Jennifer), Rogersville, MO; 5 great-grandchildren: Avery, Ethan, Saddie, Kyla, and Lilly; and 1 brother: Mark Carter (Phyllis), Iowa Park, TX one daughter-in-law: Marjorie Black.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons: Randy Black, Carter Black; and 6 brothers and sisters.

Carolyn was very active in the Clinton YMCA, both as a member, and a volunteer. She enjoyed cooking and volunteering at the Crestview Nursing Home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
