Ray Thoms

Ray M. Thoms, 79, of Clinton, went home to be with the Lord at 2:22 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 3, 2016) at Dr. John Warner Hospital, Clinton.

A celebration of Ray’s life will be 11 a.m. Monday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Ernie Harvey Jr. officiating. Military honors will follow the service. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to assist with Ray’s medical expenses.

 

Ray was born May 7, 1937, in Wapella, the son of Jesse Wayne and Aretta Nelson Thoms. He married Pamela Benson on July 20, 1996.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Thoms, Clinton; daughter, Patricia “PJ” Massey; son, Allan Dunn; sisters, Loretta Joan Lewis and Sara Lee Stewart; brother, Jay Wayne Thoms; eight stepchildren; two grandchildren; and 15 stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two children and one sister.

 

Ray was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired from Revere Copper and Brass after 30 years and loved NASCAR and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Ray was loved by all and never met stranger. He will be greatly missed.
