Elaine Mashburn 81 of Maroa, IL, passed away 11:20 A.M. August 2, 2016 at Heartland Health, Decatur, IL.

Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Calvert Funeral Home in Maroa, IL with Pastor Nic Showalter officiating. Burial will follow at the Maroa Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 AM-11:00 AM Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Elaine Mashburn Memorial Fund.

Elaine was born March 27, 1935 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Raymond and Gertrude (Pressen) McKee. She married Grover C. “Junior” Mashburn on April 25, 1953 at the Maroa Christian Church, Maroa, Il. He passed away on June 22, 1995.

Survivors include her children, Diana (Stephen) Kinkaid, Maroa, IL, Robert “Butch” (Bobbi) Mashburn, Maroa, IL; two grandchildren, Lindsay (Patrick) Nein, Argenta, IL, Kimberly Mashburn, Decatur, IL; five great-grandchildren, Hailie, Addison, Lucas, Aidan, and Adrian. Nephew, Mike Buckley, Mt. Zion, Il., Niece, Patricia (David) Fombelle, Anna, Il. and many other loved family members and friends, including her best friend of 76 years, Marlene Betzer.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Virginia Buckley and Charlotte Franklin.

Elaine served as the City Clerk for many years in Maroa, and she was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed gardening and loved to spend time with her family. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Tim Miller for all of his kindness and thoughtfulness during Elaine’s illness.
