Vicki C. Julius left her earthly family to join her Heavenly Father on June 23, 2016 with her devoted, caring husband by her side.

Funeral services for family and friends will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Schilling Funeral Home with Wayne Polk officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the funeral home.

Vicki was the oldest daughter born to Duane and Frances Beals on September 16, 1950. She graduated from Mattoon High School in 1968. Vicki followed in her beloved mother’s footsteps to become a registered nurse by earning her BSN from Millikin University in 1972. Prior to this accomplishment, Vicki married Ron Julius on December 4, 1971. To their union, they were blessed with a son, Philip Roy.

Vicki is survived by her husband, Ron Julius of Mt. Zion, IL; son, Philip (Alicia) Julius of Decatur, IL; grandsons, Wyatt and Wade; sister, Marcy (Ron) Guinnee of Mattoon, IL; brother Todd (Mary) Beals of Zephryhills, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Vicki was preceded in death by her father, mother, stepfather and sister, Cathy Jo.

Vicki was a dedicated registered nurse. Patients were her priority while on the job. She would work tirelessly to assure their comfort was maintained while under her care.

Vicki was a faithful member of Shelbyville Church of Christ for over 20 years. Vicki found the most joy in the little things in life. Her two grandsons, Wyatt and Wade, delighted her to no end. She would attend any and every event they participated in, played endless hours of Uno and Old Maid and made cookies and noodles together. Vicki also enjoyed the old classic movies, the scarier the better, with her trusted sidekick, Sophie the Weimaraner.
