Robert Dale Meade, 89, of Clinton, IL passed away at 12:02 PM, April 24, 2016 at Manor Court, Clinton, IL.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Greg Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, IL with Military Honors. Visitation will be 10 – 11 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.

Robert was born September 21, 1926 in Mackinaw, IL the son of Claude Leo and Lillian Marie (Maps) Meade. He married Ruth A. Ballenger November 15, 1947 in Clinton, IL. She passed away July 10, 2011.

Survivors include his daughter: Beverly Jean (Robert) Bowlby, Houston, TX; twin granddaughters: Tamara (Kurt) Bellows, Slidell, LA and Tara (Chad) Brown, Humble, TX; four great grandsons: Joshua Marshall, Michael Marshall, Chase Brown and Carson Brown; one great granddaughter: Audrey Bellows; brother: Sam Meade, Clinton, IL and sister: Yvetta Harold, Plant City, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.

Robert was a veteran of the US Navy.  He was a member for over 50 years of the Laborer’s Local 159, Decatur, IL and member of the American Legion.
