Charles Cutright

Charles W. Cutright, 77, of Kenney, passed away 12:41 a.m. Tuesday (April 19, 2016) at his home surrounded by family.

 

 

His service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Ernie Harvey Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to Little Galilee Christian Assembly or Safe Haven Hospice.

 

Charles was born Dec. 4, 1938, in Latham, the son of Orville and Hazel Pauline Centers Cutright. On Aug. 13, 1966, Charles married Darla Mae Havelka. They remained husband and wife for nearly 50 years.

 

Survivors include his wife, Darla Cutright, Kenney; children, Amy (Steve) Law, Heyworth; Angela (Brad) Ellison, Monticello; Brent (Heather) Cutright, Glenmoore, Pa.; and Bradley (Elizabeth) Cutright, Downers Grove; seven grandchildren, Madisen Law, Colby Law, Jackson Law, Andrew Ellison, Aliyah Ellison, Katelyn Cutright and Edward Cutright; siblings, Lois Summers, Clinton; Mary Rohrscheib, Kenney; Barbara (Dick) Johnson, Sharon Greenslate, Roberta Jaspers, Paula (Randy) Kelly and Orville H. (Linda) Cutright, all of Kenney.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Cutright.

 

Charles was a member of the Kenney Christian Church. He graduated from Illinois State University, Normal. He was a teacher and administrator at Sparland High School for 11 years. In 1973, he moved his family to Kenney and started working at Revere Copper and Brass Inc., Clinton, retiring after 27 years of service. Charles enjoyed woodworking, fishing and bird watching.
