Cornelia Rousey

Cornelia Elizabeth Rousey, 92, of Wapella, passed away at 2:28 p.m. Friday (April 1, 2016) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, has assisted the family with cremation rites.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn., and Little Galilee Christian Assembly.

Cornelia was born Sept. 8, 1923, in Bloomington, the daughter of James Kurt and Agnes Livengood Starnes. She married James L. Rousey on Sept. 19, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo. He passed away June 14, 1992.

Survivors include her children, Steven E. Rousey, Champaign, and Terry D. (Joan) Rousey, Floyds Knobs, Ind.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grand-daughter; siblings, Eldon Starnes, Bloomington; Dean Starnes, Bloomington; and Norman Starnes, Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepson, James L. Rousey Jr.; two grandchildren; and one sister.

Cornelia was retired from Revere Copper & Brass, Inc., Clinton.

Cornelia enjoyed fishing and pinochle. She loved her children and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. The family would like to thank Liberty Village, Clinton, and OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, for their excellent care.
