H. Winston Zastrow, 88, of Elmhurst, formerly of Clinton, passed away Thursday (March 31, 2016) in Elmhurst.
He was the beloved husband of 67 years to Bernice Amen Zastrow; loving father of Craig (Catherine) Zastrow, Teresa (Jim) Rich, Brent (Kathie) Zastrow and Todd (Lynn) Zastrow; devoted grandfather of Michelle (Scott) Fulk, Eric Zastrow, Joshua (Kelly) Rich, Amanda (Justin) Morgan, Sita (Emmett) Gleason, Gene (Tonia) Talley, Brad (Stacie) Talley, Todd-Robert (Kyla) Zastrow, Ted-Winston Zastrow, and Grant, Benjamin and Hope Zastrow; great-grandfather of 16; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Alvin W. Zastrow.
He was a graduate of Minnesota Bible College; a pulpit minister for over 50 years, most recently the Christian churches in Clinton and Clarendon Hills, presiding at over 750 funerals and 1,000 weddings; and a lifelong supporter of global missions, including the founding of two Christian camps.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Christian Church of Clarendon Hills, 5750 Holmes Ave., Clarendon Hills. He will be lying in state 3 p.m. Sunday until the time of service at 4 p.m. at Christian Church of Clarendon Hills. There will be a private interment.
