Richard E. Brelsfoard, 71, of Maroa, passed away Tuesday morning, February 9, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Richard was born December 17, 1944, in Decatur, to Homer and Nina Maxine (Miller) Brelsfoard. He married Nancy L. Anderson on March 21, 1965 in Decatur. Richard was a lifelong farmer and drove a semi truck for 12 years for Briggs Enterprises, Inc. in Argenta. He was a member of Warrensburg Gun Club. He loved trap shooting and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy; two sons, Troy (Kathy) Brelsfoard of Decatur and Todd (Karrie) Brelsfoard of Maroa; three grandchildren, Tim, Mike and Ashley; one sister, Barbara Anderson of Argenta; two brothers, Gary (Sharon) Brelsfoard of Maroa and Stanley (Marcia) Brelsfoard of Decatur.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Larry Anderson.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Richard E. Brelsfoard will be 10 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2016, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
