William H. Clark of Maroa

William H. Clark, 94, Maroa, died at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 15, 2014) at Imboden Creek, Decatur.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, with the Rev. C. Don Ferrill officiating. Burial will be at Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg, with military honors. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or Maroa United Methodist Church.

He was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Clinton, son of John F. and Hazel Mears Clark. He married Mildred Fern Rau on March 20, 1946, in Clinton. She passed away March 23, 2000.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Lazell, Platte City, Mo.; two sons, Larry (Carol) Clark, Maroa, and Ron (Jill) Clark, Forsyth; two brothers, Vernon Clark, Chestnut, and John “Junior” Clark, Kenney; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Evelyn Clark.

He was affiliated with Maroa United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. William farmed his entire life. He was a member of the Odd Fellows in Kenney. William enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
