Marlin Paul Krall of Cerro Gordo

Marlin Paul Krall, 79, of Cerro Gordo, Il, was called to be with the Lord at 4:08 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Memorial Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, at Cerro Gordo Church of the Brethren. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 17, at the church. Burial will be Ridge Cemetery, Long Creek Township. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Cerro Gordo, will be assisting the family with the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Cerro Gordo Church of the Brethren.

Marlin was born June 28, 1934, in Decatur, the son of Clarence and Pearl (McClure) Krall. He enjoyed 55 wonderful years being married to Shirley M. (Long) Krall where they were united in marriage on September 14, 1958, at the Christian Church in Mt. Morris, IL.

Marlin graduated from Cerro Gordo High School. He spent his life time as a farmer, a Bo-Jac seed dealer for 40 years and Bellatti soybean dealer for 20 years. Marlin very much enjoyed helping his customers. He was a founder of the Cerro Gordo Community Ambulance Service board for 30 years, a member of the Macon County Farm Bureau and a member of the Cerro Gordo Church of the Brethren for 64 years where he served as a Deacon, usher, and served on various boards. He also served in the Brethren Volunteer Service for 2 years where he drove a semi to pick up relief clothing.

Marlin is survived by his wife Shirley Krall of Cerro Gordo; son Kevin Krall of Cerro Gordo, Il; daughter Beverly (Shawn) Stribling of Ashland, IL; grandson Brandon Stribling and granddaughter Brittany Stribling, both of Ashland, IL; sisters Joan LeVallay of Park Ridge, IL and Dr. Rose (Dr. William) Ditto of Wamego, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marlin was preceded in death by his parents.
