Doris L. Gilmore of Bloomington

Doris L. Gilmore, 92, Bloomington, formerly of Farmer City, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 18, 2014) at her residence.

A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, with the Rev. Jeremiah Thompson officiating. Graveside inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Weedman United Methodist Church, Bag Ladies Quilting Group or American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Gilmore was born June 9, 1921, in West Township, McLean County, daughter of Carl and Ida Curtis Bennett. She married Clytus Ralph Gilmore on March 31, 1944, in rural Farmer City. He passed away Aug. 20, 2005.

She is survived by three daughters, Marian (Richard) Steege, Pflugerville, Texas; Elaine (Leslie) Franzen, Farmer City; and Carolyn (Rick) Leiding, Danville; five grandchildren, Kimberly (Steve) Roberts, Austin, Texas; Douglas (Angie) Franzen, Farmer City; Diane Franzen, Mahomet; Mark Edsall, Cincinnati, Ohio; and Scott (Blair) Edsall, Nashville, Tenn.; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elizabeth Grimes Bartlett, Mesa, Ariz.

Mrs. Gilmore was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clytus Ralph Gilmore; two sisters; and one granddaughter.

Mrs. Gilmore was a member of Weedman United Methodist Church, Bag Ladies Quilting Club at Weedman United Methodist Church, Busy Needles Club and the Sabina Social Club. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts for family and friends.
