Esther E. Wond, 95, of Warrensburg passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Esther was born on June 9, 1918 in Virden, IL the daughter of Jerome and Laura (Diplotti) Baruzzini. She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital as a LPN. She also volunteered with the Red Cross for many years. She married Walter Wond on November 23, 1939 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1994.

Surviving are her daughter Eva Simpson and husband Glenn of Warrensburg; granddaughter Madonna Brown and husband Richard of Warrensburg; and great-grandson Lewis Brown of Warrensburg.

She was preceded death by her parents, husband, 2 brother, and 4 sisters.

Funeral Liturgy to celebrate Esther’s life will be 2 PM Saturday, January 18, 2014 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-2 PM Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer Association or the charity of donor’s choosing.
