Carol E. Scott, 78, of Bement, passed away at 7:15 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Carle Hospital, Urbana.

Carol was born on May 16, 1935 in Edgewood, IL the daughter of James E. and Lucille Ragle. She married Daniel W. Scott on April 27, 1956 in Louisville, KY. He passed away on May 10, 2004.

Survivors include her son; Jeff Scott (Fiancée Nicky Bales) of Bement, grandchildren; Paige Scott of San Diego, CA, Taylor Scott of Savoy, Jacob Lietz of Mahomet, Jenna Bales of Bement, Jessica Hahn Kosack of Bloomington, Kyle Hahn of South Dakota, and great grandchildren; Isabell and Grace Lietz. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son (Greg Scott), and 3 bothers (James Ragle, Joseph Eldrid Ragle, and Richard Ragle).

Carol retired from Cap and Gown in Champaign. The joys of her life were her grandchildren, Debbie’s Dance Studio, the Bement Country Opry, and her puppies Ozzie and Ethel.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kirby Medical Center, Dr. Narain Mandhan, Jerry and Jenny Ragle of Urbana, and Betty Ensign of Monticello.

There will be no services at this time per Carol’s wishes. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello is assisting the family with arrangements.
