Rose Mary Evans of Clinton

Rose Mary Evans, 92, Clinton, formerly of Waynesville, died at 9:03 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 17, 2013) at her residence in Clinton.

Her funeral will be at noon Friday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Candi Evans officiating. Burial will be in McLean Cemetery, McLean. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Home Sweet Home Mission, Bloomington.

She was born Dec. 1, 1921, in Stanford, daughter of Alfred August Kruse and Faye Dickson. She married Weldon Evans on Dec. 16, 1939, in Bloomington. He passed away Aug. 14, 1984.  

Survivors include her children, Stephen Weldon (Nova) Evans, Clinton, and Joy Ann (Danny) Upton, Bloomington; sisters, Doris Brennaman, El Paso, and Marjorie Magarity, Mackinaw; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Alfred Kruse Jr.

She attended several local churches. Rose Mary was a farmer’s wife. She had a passion for painting, crocheting and family genealogy. She also enjoyed traveling. Rose Mary was past president of the Waynesville Library Board and was instrumental in getting grants to rebuild the library after the 1970 tornado. Rose Mary was also a people person.
