Jacqueline “Jackie” Fisher, 87, of Bement, IL., passed away at 3:15 A.M. on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello, IL.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ivesdale, IL. The Rev. Father Bruce Lopez will officiate. Deacon Jim Brewer will assist. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until time of services on Tuesday at the church in Ivesdale. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Ivesdale. Memorial contributions can be made to the Halcyon Unit at the Piatt County Nursing Home.
Jackie was born on February 8, 1926 in Bement, IL., a daughter of Orville E. and Agnes Tynan Bowyer. She married Leon Gallagher on October 10, 1945, he passed away on March 23, 1969. She later married Kenneth Fisher on July 13, 1974, and he passed away March 20, 1997. Surviving children include; Bill (Julie) Gallagher of Bement, IL. and Angela (Dave) Ard of Carthage, IL., as well as daughter-in-law; Jane E. Gallagher of Rockville, MD. Surviving grandchildren include; Katherine B. Gallagher, Molly Gallagher, Zach (Sara Larson) Gallagher, Dylan Gallagher, Mac Gallagher, Brodie Gallagher, Alex (Brock) Edris, Kelly Ard, Nolan Ard and great-grandson; Grady Gallagher. Jackie is also survived by step-children; Linda Shearin of Ft. Collins, CO., Marilyn (Terry) Young of Monticello, IL., Donna Guerrero of Monticello, IL., and Nancy (Dave) McDougall of Northfield, MN., as well as step-grandchildren; Marti (Jeff) Drum, Brian Young, Jason (Ingrid) Young, Courtney (Dan) Lau, Mason (Cheryl) Harshbarger, Mathew Harshbarger, Melina Harshbarger, Tim (Erica) McDougall and Daniel McDougall. She is also survived by step-great-grandchildren; Ella and Grant Young, Sebastian, Francesca and Julian Young, and Sadie Harshbarger. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a son – Gary Gallagher, a step-son – Jerry Fisher, and a sister – Marlene Johnson
Jackie was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Bement,and she attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Schools and Bement Schools. She graduated from Champaign Beauty School in 1943.
