William R. Dagner of Heyworth

William “Bill” R. Dagner, 54, of Heyworth passed away at 7:10 a.m. Thursday (June 27, 2013) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Tri-Valley Baptist Church, Bloomington. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. also at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the Tri-Valley Baptist Church or the NRA.

Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Heyworth, is in charge of arrangements.

Bill was born March 13, 1959, in Redwood Falls, Minn. He married Elena D Kuselevuch on April 30, 1998, in Hudson, Wis. She survives.

Also surviving are mother, JoAnn E. (Kenneth) Meierding Kotval; daughter, Karina Dagner, Heyworth; brothers, Bruce (Sheila) Dagner, Dassel, Minn.; Don Dagner, Redwood Falls, Minn.; and Bruce Kotval, Shoreview, Minn.; sisters, Marlys (Curtis) Carpenter, Marshall, Minn., and Tammy Rozell, Marshall, Minn.; and many friends, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Dagner; sister, Stacy Dagner; maternal grandparents, Roland (Esther) Meierding; and paternal grandparents, Charlie (Dagmar) Dagner. He was very close to all who passed before him.

Bill was an avid deer hunter and competitive sport shooting participant who always wanted to be outside and around nature. He farmed for around 20 years. He was a serious NASCAR fan and a competitive racer at the Redwood Falls Raceway in Redwood Falls, Minn. Most of all, Bill was a family man who loved to spend time with his wife and daughter. Bill was a loving husband, father, son, brother and devoted friend who will be deeply missed.
