Ramona S. Dowdy, 50, of Monticello, passed away at 12:58 a.m., April 14, 2013 at Carle Hospital, Urbana.

Ramona was born on March 8, 1963 in Dallas, TX, the daughter of Coy and Polly (Abernathy) Hinton.

Survivors include her parents; Coy and Polly Hinton of Avinger, TX, children; Candice Retmier of CA, Alicia Thompson and Toby Williams both of TX, grandfather; Wesley Abernathy of TX, 8 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren, sisters; Norma Brock and Cindy Peterson both of TX, and the love of her life Darrell Dick of Monticello.

Ramona was a waitress and house cleaner. She loved watching Darrell race and bowling. She also enjoyed her jobs and working. Ramona was very kind hearted and had a special way of making everyone she met feel welcomed and loved.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Warner officiating. Visitation will be private family only. Interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home to assist the family.
