Ronald Stanley Runyen of Maroa

Ronald Stanley Runyen, 64, Maroa, died at 11:28 a.m. Saturday (March 23, 2013) at his family home, Maroa.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, with Ron Rector officiating. Burial will be at Maroa Cemetery, Maroa. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ronald Runyen Memorial Fund.

He was born Oct. 11, 1948, in Decatur, son of Elmer S. “Fat” and Betty Ellen Vantries Runyen. He married Joyce Marie Good on Oct. 20, 1967, in Decatur. She passed away Aug. 10, 2005.

He is survived by one son, Tony Good, Maroa; one daughter, Ronda (Bill) Bradley, Joy; one sister, Betty Jane (Russ) Copher, Maroa; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was affiliated with Maroa Christian Church.

Ronald was an ASA softball umpire, past city council alderman and worked at Revere Copper & Brass Inc. in Clinton for 35 years. He also worked at the M&M Cafe in Maroa.
