Eva I. Hayter of Lincoln

Eva I. Hayter, 89, of Lincoln, formerly of Beason, passed away Friday (March 29, 2013) at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.

No funeral is scheduled. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be at a later date in Keyes Cemetery, rural Beason. Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln, is in charge of arrangements.

Eva I. Howen was born July 28, 1923, in North Dakota, the daughter of John and Olive Howen. She married Robert Hayter on Aug. 15, 1942. He preceded her in death in November 2003.

She is survived by three daughters, Joyce Gleason, Lincoln; Jacquelyn (Michael Craig) Zaffiri, Bloomington; and Peggy (Mike) Tackett, Lincoln. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Eva was the owner of Bob and Eva’s Café in Beason from 1957 until 1967. Later, Eva’s love of painting became a career as well as a pastime.

She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Eva’s family would like to thank the staff of Christian Village Nursing Home for the care and love that was shown to Eva during her stay at the home.

Memorials may be made to the Logan County Paramedics Association, the Lupus Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
