Mary Virginia Foster of Clinton

Mary Virginia Foster, 98, lifelong resident of the Clinton area, died at 4:53 a.m. Sunday (March 24, 2013) at Manor Court, Clinton.

Her funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Little Galilee Christian Assembly Camp.

She was born April 24, 1914, in Bellflower, daughter of Louis and Hattie Sprau Hiither. She married Grover Delmar Foster on Sept. 3, 1941, in Bellflower. He passed away Dec. 29, 2012.  

She is survived by one son, Glenn D. (Barbara) Foster, Crawfordsville, Ind.; two grandsons, Troy L. (Stacy) Mohr, Greenfield, Ind., and David (Cheryl) Foster, Tupelo, Miss.; one granddaughter,  Stacey Foster, Lake Mary, Fla.; six great-grandchildren, Gage Foster, Taylor Jones, Trysten and Emily Mohr, and Courtney and Colten Smith; two great-great-granddaughters, Mikyla and Madalyn Coffman; sister, Marguerite Rude, Bradley; brother, Louis Hiither Jr., Oracle, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Bernice Pauley, Gibson City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Henry Hiither; brother-in-law, Wilbur Rude; brother- and sister-in-law, Chester and Lena Foster; brother- and sister-in-law, Bradley and Esther Campbell; and special niece, Barbara Rude.

She was a member of First Christian Church, Clinton.

She was a 67-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, and she and Delmar were worthy matron and patron of the Bloomington Chapter 50.

Mary loved her friends and family dearly! She had a big heart and welcomed all! The more the merrier! She farmed in partnership with her husband for many years in the LeRoy, Armington and Wapella areas. They moved to Clinton when they retired in 1976.
