Peggy E. Houdeshell, age 59, of Monticello, Illinois passed away at 10:21 A.M. Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Dalrymple officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 29, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello, Illinois. Interment will be at the Monticello Township Cemetery in Monticello. Peggy was born May 2, 1953 in Sheldon, Missouri the daughter of James Hubert and Mary Elizabeth (Malcom) Thomas. She married Robert Houdeshell on April 8, 1971 in Sheldon, Missouri. He survives. Also surviving are her children Justin (Joan) Houdeshell of Mahomet, IL; Lorie (Joe) Frantz of Mattoon, IL; and Kami (Jeremy) Benson of Bement, IL. She also is survived by 9 grandchildren, sisters, Louise Olgren of Independence, MO; Freda Eliason of Brookfield, WI; Irene Barnhart of Raymore, MO; Betty Stoner of Pleasant Valley, MO; June Dobbins of Carthage, MO; and a brother, Jim Thomas of Stockton, MO. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and Brother Charles Thomas. She loved her family and grandchildren very much. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
