Virginia Alline Wickenhauser of Clinton

Virginia Alline Wickenhauser, 90 of Clinton, IL passed away 5:30 A.M. March 4, 2013 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. She waits for us with our maker.

  Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Friends may call from 1 – 2 P.M. Thursday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Labre Indian School.

  Virginia was born July 12, 1922 in LeRoy, IL the daughter of John and Lillie Maud (Walls) Yocum, she was one of ten siblings, her brother: Sylvester Abraham Yocum survives. She married Charles Wickenhauser December 24, 1961, in Clinton, IL, he passed away in 2001. Other survivors include her children: Patricia Bradley, Clinton, IL, Ann (Jeff) Taylor, Hallsville, IL, David (Debbie) Peavler, Lane, IL and Stan (Gayle) Peavler, Clinton, IL. Also she leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sons and 2 grandchildren.

  Virginia retired from Revere Copper and Brass Company in Clinton, IL after many years of service. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed canning and preparing food and was always active with her numerous family members. For the past 20 years she was a member of The Challenging Times crossword puzzle company. She donated items and money to the St. Labre Indian School in Montana.

  Everyone who knew her could always rely on her caring nature and helpful ways. Her spunk and softness will always be remembered.
