Susan Piatt of Clinton

Susan Piatt, 60, Clinton, died at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 20, 2013) at her family residence.

A private graveside service will be Saturday at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois (CCSCI) Charitable Fund or Second Chance Pet Adoption, Clinton.

She was born Jan. 21, 1953, in Clinton, daughter of I.E. “Pete” and Clara Lee McAdoo Kraft. She married John H. Piatt on Oct. 9, 1976, in Clinton.

Survivors include her husband, John H. Piatt, Clinton; one son, Jay (Kylie) Piatt, St. Louis, Mo.; mother-in-law, Joyce Piatt, Clinton; brother-in-law, David (Gail) Piatt, Farmer City; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was affiliated with First United Methodist Church, Clinton.

Susan graduated from Clinton High School in 1971 and attended Illinois State University. She greatly enjoyed her fellow workers and helping her customers during the many years she worked at the First National Bank and Trust Co. in Clinton. 

The family wishes to thank all of our wonderful friends and Dr. James L. Wade III and his staff for their care and support.

Susan was a wonderful wife, mother and friend who will be deeply missed.
