Leora Jean Clifton of Cisco

Leora Jean (Benjamin) Clifton, 87, of Norridge, IL (originally Cisco) died at 4:00 PM, Saturday (Jun 8, 2013) in Resurrection Medical Center, Chicago. Services will at 10:00 AM Friday at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello, with Dr. Jack C. Clifton II officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Thursday in Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello. Burial will be in Monticello Cemetery.

Mrs. Clifton was born January 23, 1926, in Oakley, the daughter of Fred (Hip) and Lena (Himmelbauer) Benjamin. She was a charter member of the Craig-Reed Legion Post 1181 Women’s Auxiliary, First Baptist Church in Monticello, Kirby Hospital Auxiliary, CAED board in Cisco, Daubers Art Club and Central Baptist Village Charmers Choir. Leora was a beautician for 35 plus years out of her home shop. Leora married Jack C. Clifton on October 14, 1945, in Cisco.

Surviving are her daughter, Diana Lyn (Richard) Hoffman of Monticello; son, Dr. Jack (Dr. Fran) Clifton II of Chicago; sisters, Roberta Sheets of LaPlace and Rosemary Williams of Murphysborough; grandsons, Sean and Ryan Hoffman of Monticello; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Fred (Long Island, NY), Roy (Decatur) and Jack (Indianola, IA).

Leora was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed but is forever with her Savior. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mackey-wrightfguneralhome.com
