James P. Bode of Lincoln

James P. “Bode” Bode, 48, Lincoln, passed away at 6:23 p.m. Friday evening (June 14, 2013) at his home. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Atlanta, with the Rev. Glenn Fontana officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Burial will be at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery at Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church. The family requests casual attire for the service.

Surviving are his parents; one sister, Margaret Ann (Jamie Queer) Rubenacker; and two nephews, Cory Rubenacker and Eric Rubenacker, all of Lincoln.

Jim was the person who placed the flag of the United States of America on the overhead over Interstate I-55 at Lawndale on Sept. 11, 2001.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln.
