Scott Michael Nelson, 40, Clinton, passed away at 7:10 p.m. June 14, 2012, at his residence in Clinton.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. July 10, 2012, at Waynesville Christian Church. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to his family. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, helped the family with cremation services.

Scott was born Oct. 11, 1971, in Clinton, the son of Charles and Nellie Fields Nelson, Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Nellie, Clinton; two sons, Brady Scott and Ashton Steven; and special aunt and uncle, Ernie and Mildred Danner. Scott is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Jr.; maternal grandparents, Lewis and Mildred Fields; and paternal grandparents, Charles and Ethel Nelson.

Scott was born on his great-grandfather Henry E. Preston’s birthday.

He worked as a cook for many years at Grecian Garden. Scott was in ill health for several years due to diabetes.

Scott loved watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears on TV. He was a member of Waynesville Christian Church.
