Helen M. Brighton, 84 of Champaign, IL passed away 1:18 A.M. June 2, 2012 at her family home in Champaign, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Rev. C. Don Ferrill officiating. Burial will follow at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, IL. Friends may call from 10 to 11 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Weldon United Methodist Church. Helen was born December 23, 1927 in DeLand, IL the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Boyd) Mix. She married Arthur Brighton April 19, 1959 in Bloomington, IL. Survivors include her Husband: Arthur Brighton, Champaign, IL; Son: Bryan (Dianne) Brighton, Ann Arbor, MI; Daughter: Bonnie (Matt) Black, Champaign, IL; 3 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her Parents and 2 Brothers. She was an active member of the Weldon United Methodist Church and worked at State Farm Insurance Company in Bloomington, IL before pursuing a degree at Illinois State Normal College. She retired from the University of Illinois after serving as Administrative Assistant to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs.
