Mary L. McNeil Weingart of Wapella

Mary L. McNeil Weingart, 85, Wapella, formerly of Morris and Branson, Mo., passed away Wednesday morning (Jan. 9, 2013) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, with her family by her side.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Winterrowd Funeral Home, Streator, with the Rev. Benjamin Keller officiating. Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Marc, Todd, Scott and Craig McNeil; Jason Funk; Matt McPartlin; and Kevin Brinker.

A visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mary was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Long Point, daughter of Alonzo and Ella Mae Hughes LeVelle. She married Leonard “Mick” McNeil. He passed away Sept. 1, 1966. She later married Leo Weingart. He passed away May 17, 2011.

Surviving are son, Leonard (Phyllis) McNeil, and daughter, Terry (Brian) Funk, both of Funks Grove; three stepsons, Steven Weingart, Missouri; Jeff (Christi) Weingart, Wisconsin; and Phillip (Brenda) Weingart, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Marc McNeil, Todd (Liz) McNeil, Scott (Lara) McNeil, Craig McNeil, Kevin Brinker, Jamie (Matt) McPartlin, Jill (Jamie Nelson) Salems, Jason Funk and Jennifer Funk; two great-grandchildren, Maddux McPartlin and Ellie McNeil; and sister, Betty (Gordon) Beutke, West Chicago.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Arnold, Steve and Wayne LeVelle, and sisters, Evelyn Small and Edith Jackson.

Mary was the former owner of the Prince Drive In and Mick’s Quick Chick, both located in Morris, and Quick Chick in Streator. She was also a waitress for many years in Branson, Mo.

She attended Long Point Grade School and graduated from Long Point High School. Mary was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Branson, Mo., and presently attended Clinton Presbyterian Church, Clinton.

Mary had a great love for flowers, rocks and gardening. Mary loved spending time with her loving family and will be greatly missed by all who  knew and loved her.
