Virgie B. Moody of Farmer City

FARMER CITY — Virgie B. Moody, 90, Farmer City, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 25, 2011) at Farmer City Rehabilitation & Health Care, Farmer City.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, with the Rev. C. Don Ferrill officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Virgie was born Aug. 4, 1921, in Marion County, Mo., a daughter of William Edward and Maude Wood Couch.

She married Russell Baker on July 26, 1947, in Monroe City, Mo. He passed away July 17, 1979. She later married David J. Moody on Jan. 18, 1986, in Ellsworth.

She is survived by her husband, David J. Moody, Farmer City; son, Gary (Marsha) Baker, Loveland, Colo.; daughter, Sharon Fitzwater, Clinton; three stepdaughters, Barbara Shoemaker, Griggsville; Wanda (Charles) Rule, Bowling Green, Mo.; and Sharon (James) Arteman, Towanda; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Barbara) Couch, Quincy; and sister, Lacy Watson, Quincy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marshall Couch; and sister, Violet Watson.
