Alva C. Miller of Clinton

Alva C. Miller, 94, of Clinton died 12:45 a.m. Wednesday (July 24, 2013) in Manor Court.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton. Alva was born on June 28, 1919, in Anderson County, Ky., daughter of William Wallace Kays and Emma Ray Camic. She enjoyed gardening, farming and watching golf. She married Paul Douglas Miller on April 22, 1945, in Mattoon. He preceded her in death April 13, 2001.

Surviving are her son, Steven D. (Jo) Miller of Clinton; daughters, Dixie (Keith) Wantland of Taylorville; Lynda (Steve) Atchason of Decatur; brother, James (Nina) Kays of Mount Zion; sisters, Mae Baker of Las Vegas, Nev.; Elizabeth (Lee) Slater of Windsor; grandchildren, Cynthia (Brian) Nisinger of Jamestown, N.C.; Scott (Michele) Rottler of Vale, Ariz.; Shelby Rottler of Decatur; Shaye (Andrew) Huffman of Wapella; Sydne Miller and Trey Miller, both of Clinton; six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; one brother; and two sisters.
