James R. Wibben of Lincoln

James R. Wibben, 66, of Lincoln, formerly of Atlanta, died at 12:35 p.m. Friday (July 19, 2013) at his home.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Atlanta Christian Church, with the Rev. Gilbert Gandenberger officiating. Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Quiram Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta, and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the church. Memorial gifts may be made to the Atlanta Rescue Squad.

James Reike Wibben was born Feb. 24, 1947, in Lincoln, the son of Reike Smith Wibben and Virginia Sank Wibben. He married Janet Pech on March 26, 1977. She died Sept. 26, 1987. He married Marge Dowell on Aug. 27, 1988. She survives in Lincoln.

Also surviving are his children, Jody Wibben, Atlanta; Julie (Dan) Benedict, San Antonio, Texas; and Matthew J. (Trisha) Presswood, Chestnut; one sister, Janet Groth, Emden; one brother, Jeff Wibben, Hartsburg; and five grandchildren, Danielle Benedict, Colton Benedict, Ayiana Benedict, Aaron Durchholz and Karson Presswood.

Jim graduated from Hartsburg Emden High School in 1965. He farmed in the Hartsburg, Atlanta and Beason areas for many years. He retired from the Logan County Reconditioned Cemetery District after working for 20 years. He was a member of the Chestnut Men’s Club in Chestnut.

Jim enjoyed his family, kids and grandkids, camping, traveling, fishing and woodworking.
